Returns & Refunds Policy

At Steelfoot Ltd, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If something is wrong or you wish to arrange a return, please contact us so we can help.

This policy applies to purchases made by consumers. Business and trade purchases are subject to the agreed terms of sale. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

Changing your mind

For eligible online, telephone and email orders, you can cancel without giving a reason up to 14 days after the day you receive your goods. You must then send them back within 14 days of telling us.

To cancel, contact us with a clear statement of your decision. Please include your name and order number. You do not need our approval to exercise your cancellation rights.

For purchases made in person at our premises, we do not offer change-of-mind returns unless agreed at the time of sale. Your rights concerning faulty goods remain unaffected.

Condition of returned goods

You may inspect goods as you would in a shop. Please return all supplied accessories and use the original packaging where possible.

We may deduct any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the goods’ nature, characteristics and function. This may include damage caused by fitting or use. Opening packaging to inspect an item does not, by itself, remove your cancellation rights.

We do not charge a restocking fee for statutory cancellations.

Return costs and refunds

You are responsible for the direct cost of change-of-mind returns where we informed you of this before purchase. For goods requiring specialist transport, we will provide the return cost or a reasonable estimate before you order.

When you cancel an entire eligible order, we refund the standard outward delivery charge. Any additional charge for a premium delivery service is not refundable.

Refunds are made using your original payment method unless otherwise agreed, without a refund fee. We refund within 14 days of receiving the goods or evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier. If we have agreed to collect them, we refund within 14 days of cancellation.

Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods

Please contact us if your goods arrive damaged, develop a fault or do not match your order. Include proof of purchase and details of the problem; photographs may help us assess it.

Where goods breach your statutory rights:

  • You normally have a short-term right to reject them within 30 days for a full refund.

  • After this, you will normally be entitled to a repair or replacement at no cost.

  • If a repair or replacement is unsuccessful, impossible or not provided within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience, you may be entitled to a price reduction or final rejection.

We cover reasonable return costs for faulty or incorrectly supplied goods. Please contact us to arrange a suitable method. Refunds for rejected faulty goods are made within 14 days of our agreement that you are entitled to one.

Normal wear, accidental damage and faults caused by misuse are not manufacturing defects. A manufacturer’s warranty is additional to your rights against Steelfoot.

Firearms, ammunition and other restricted goods
Contact us before physically returning firearms, ammunition, moderators or other regulated goods. Do not send them through ordinary post or an unapproved courier.

We will agree an appropriate return method, which may involve an appointment, a Registered Firearms Dealer or a suitable specialist carrier. Applicable licensing, transfer and transport requirements must be followed.

If you suspect a safety-related fault, stop using the item and contact us.

These arrangements do not remove your statutory cancellation or faulty-goods rights. You can notify us of cancellation while the return arrangements are being organised.

Bespoke and personalised goods

Change-of-mind cancellation rights do not normally apply to goods made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised for you.

An item is not automatically exempt simply because we specially ordered or imported it. Any applicable exemption will be explained before purchase.

Your rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods still apply.

Second-hand and sale goods

Second-hand and discounted goods retain statutory protection. For second-hand goods, satisfactory quality is assessed with regard to their age, price, description and disclosed condition.

You cannot claim for a specific defect clearly brought to your attention before purchase, but this does not remove your rights regarding other faults.
